The Byzantine Challenge is a game of skill and memory
in which teams of up to five players compete to answer
questions from 20 pre-selected categories drawn from the Fathers of the Church, papal encyclicals,
and church history. A full list of books and materials is available for download.
The 2009 Byzantine Challenge will be held August 21-22
during the Our Lady of Perpetual Help pilgrimage. Information on the pilgrimage
include location and other activities can be found on the OLPH shrine Web site.
All teams are welcome and you don't have to be Byzantine
to compete. The questions are from all aspects of the
Catholic Faith both Eastern and Western traditions.
Registration is $20 per team or $4 per person. Registration
forms are available here. The winning teams will recieve
prizes of $300, $200 or $50 for the top three finishers.
